Gas station, nine at night, and the buttercream goes almost white under the pump lights. That was the first thing I noticed in the Geedup Team Logo Buttercream/Black Trackpants, which I pulled on that morning without thinking about it much. Honestly I figured the light color would be a problem. It wasn’t. I’d gone in for a drink and a bag of ice and came out thinking about my own pants, which is a weird thing to say out loud.
And the black stops the cream from looking like pajamas, which I was like kind of worried about.
A normal Tuesday
Mailbox walk at seven in the morning, still half asleep, and you get halfway back before you remember you never changed. Happens a bunch. Later I drove to the store in the Geedup pants, and the car seat was cold enough that I felt it through the leg, which bugged me for about ten seconds, and then I forgot about it completely, so I guess that tells you something about how little they ask. Sit down in them and you pretty much stop thinking about them. They feel like something you grabbed off the floor and it turned out to be the right call. Around the house they end up being the pair I reach for first, no lie, and I only notice when the laundry’s done and they’re gone. Three hours on my cousin’s couch, actually no, four.
Dre calls them the Geedup Hoodies now, and the name stuck so hard at his place that I’ve started saying it too. The logo is there, it’s a logo, I won’t pretend it’s anything more than that. (I think the cream wins over the black, but that’s me.)
What goes with them
Throw a black hoodie over the Geedup Team Logo Buttercream/Black Trackpants and that’s the outfit. And plain sneakers. But I went out in slides once and the cream looked better with the black socks, no lie, which I only figured out by accident. My brother said I looked a little Geed up for the grocery store, which, fine, he’s not wrong, I did look like I was going somewhere. I wore them again Thursday anyway. Same cold seat.
Anyway, the Geedup Team Logo Buttercream/Black Trackpants page is right here if you feel like a look, and maybe check the cream in daylight first, I don’t know, it looked fine at the pump too.
