I put it on in the car before I even got the receipt into my bag, and I don’t do that. The GEEDUP Handstyle Black Hoodie Lavendar was just sitting on the passenger seat. So I did. Black, with the lavender doing its own quiet thing.
What it feels like
Honestly, it feels like a hoodie you stop thinking about, which is kind of the whole point. (I get picky about this, probably too picky.) Pulling the hood up at a gas station at seven in the morning with cold hands and nobody else awake, that is the moment it finally made sense to me. Sleeves pushed to the elbow while the pump runs. Down again when the wind shows up. And I forgot I had it on by the time I paid.
It sits right and you leave it alone.
Errands, mostly. Grab it for the couch too, with the TV on low and a bag of chips open on your knee, because I’d guess that’s where most of my hoodie hours happen, and I’m fine with that. Jeans work.
The name thing
If you already know Geedup, you get it, and if you don’t, the short version is a black hoodie with some lavender in it and a name that’s fun to say out loud. Some friends say geed up and some say Geedup Hoodies, and honestly nobody agrees. No lie, I stopped correcting people. Say it however it comes out. Anyway, I looked at a few colors, three, no wait, four, and kept coming back to the GEEDUP Handstyle Black Hoodie Lavendar, probably because black goes with whatever I already own, including the one pair of sweatpants I keep wearing, and I wanted something to grab without a plan, which is pretty much how I get dressed.
The little stuff
Mailbox walk most evenings, hood down. Same walk, same hoodie. And the lavender is like a little detail I only notice when I’m looking for it. But I notice it.
Anyway, I wore it a bunch more than I expected to that first week, and I haven’t really sat down and figured out why. Probably the color, I guess. Whatever it is, the GEEDUP Handstyle Black Hoodie Lavendar is on this page if you want to look at it a while and make up your own mind about the lavender, because I’m still not sure I have the right word for it.
