Geedup x Arrdee Black/White Sublimated Pants

I was standing in the driveway at seven in the morning with my coffee going cold on the car roof and I still hadn’t decided if the Geedup x Arrdee Black/White Sublimated Pants were too loud for a Tuesday. Not loud, exactly. Actually, no, a little loud, and I wore them anyway.

The black and white print looks busier in the mirror than it does from across a parking lot, and I think that’s the right way around.

What a regular day looks like

Honestly, I figured I’d be fussing with them all day. Instead I sat in the car for forty minutes on the way to my sister’s, thighs against the seat, and not once did I tug at the knees or shift around, which is kind of a first for me with anything this loud. They feel like pants you stop thinking about by lunch. And I stopped, for real. Later I walked out to the mailbox at dusk, and the neighbor across the street did a double take, and no lie, I liked that more than I should have.

What I’d put with them

Plain tops. That’s the rule I landed on, because the print is already doing the talking. A black tee or a white one. I tried a hoodie on a cold morning and it was fine, I guess, though the pants kind of won the argument (the black tee still wins, I think). Anything Geedup prints tends to work that way. So I leave the top half boring.

Wear them to the gas station first. Low stakes, mostly strangers. A handful of people looked and nobody said a word, which was, like, a little disappointing. My cousin is always Geed up and even he asked me twice where I got them.

It got normal fast. More than I expected, the Geedup x Arrdee Black/White Sublimated Pants went with a bunch of stuff I already owned, mostly because I own a lot of black. Even the old boots came out of the closet. My brother calls every pair from them Geedup Hoodies, whatever the cut, and I stopped correcting him around the second week. Anyway, it stuck.
