I pulled the sleeves down over my hands at a red light and left them there. That was the first thing I did in the GEEDUP Hand Style Hoodie Green Black Pastel, and honestly it’s still like the first thing I do.
Green and black first, then the pastel sneaks up on you somewhere around the second or third time you put it on.
Where it ended up living
By week two the GEEDUP Hand Style Hoodie Green Black Pastel had a spot on the passenger seat of my car, which is a bad sign for the closet. I wore it to a gas station at 6 a.m., hood up and a coffee in my hand, and nobody looked twice, which is kind of the point of a hoodie. Wait, that’s not right. Somebody did look, a guy at pump four, but only at the hoodie, and he nodded. (I’ll take the nod.) Pulling it over my head takes no effort, and the neck doesn’t fight me, which I noticed more than I expected.
And it goes with whatever is already on my floor. Jeans, mostly. Wear it with sweatpants when you’re lazy, which for me is pretty much always. But the name does the talking, and Geedup is one of those names people know or don’t, and the ones who know will say so, loudly, right there in the parking lot, to whoever came with them, and then you’re both stuck talking about a hoodie for ten minutes. My sister borrowed it for one afternoon and I had to ask for it back twice.
What people call it
My cousin calls the whole brand Geedup Hoodies, which I didn’t get at first, and then I did. Someone spelled it Geed up in a text once and I knew exactly what they meant, which says something about how people say it out loud. So the name travels, I guess, even when the spelling doesn’t, and people are weirdly happy about that.
Mailbox walk at dusk, sleeves pulled down, and only my neck got cold. It feels like a hoodie you stop thinking about after the first ten minutes. I own a handful of hoodies and this one gets picked first more often than I’d ever say out loud to anyone who folded my laundry.
Anyway, the GEEDUP Hand Style Hoodie Green Black Pastel is right there if you want a look. Colors first, maybe.
